Breathing Count Update

Eli has been rapidly improving over the past 24 hours!  In the past day he has:

  • been taken off oxygen.
  • started eating from a bottle.
  • slowed his breathing down to 60-80 times per minute (40-60 is normal).
  • graduated to a normal bassinet.

I don’t have any newer pictures off my camera, but here is one of him just 30 minutes old.  He wasn’t very happy with all the bright lights, but it was good to hear him cry.  I’m sure it won’t always been good to hear him cry, but at this point I was loving it.

Eli a few minutes old.

What happened that he had to have all of this stuff? No one told us that information.

This website is so fun! Actually I haven’t gotten much done at work now that I have it on my favorites. I’ve been sharing your story and photos of Eli with the girls at work. Everyone thinks he’s beautiful! Kelli you are every woman’s hero! Can’t believe you had to work so hard to bring your son into the world, but I bet he’s worth it.

wow!!! he looks a lot different than he did at thanksgiving, he has way more hair. we’ve been showing him off to all of denmark and they think he is very handsome and would be a good match to their new crownprincess that was newly born on the same day. i’m sure eli’s birth was all over the tv and papers like hers was here, how exciting!
and kelli, you are a champ and a half!!!!!!!!!! i can’t even imagine. and just think when he’s a rowdy teenager you can tell him that you weren’t in labor for 40 hours for him to misbehave!!!!

Wow, he really does look like Nathan to me! I can’t wait to meet this little fighter in August. He and Elsa are going to be such good buddies. What a brave and strong boy he is already! I’m so glad that things are improving so quickly. My prayer is that you both get lots of sleep tonight and that the mixed blessing in Eli being at the hospital is that you will be energized for his big homecoming!

    I love you both!

Great to hear that Elias is doing better. I’ll definitely have to come back and visit when mommy and son are both up for it. Thanks for all of the updates!
