Welcome home Elias

We found out that he could come home this morning around 9:30am this morning.  Needless to say, we were very happy.  It felt so good to know that he was going to be here with us.

Here we are about ready to leave the hospital. He’s sporting his new blue shirt and pants that his momma picked out for him along with his hand knitted hat from the Boyd’s.

The little guy riding in his brand new car seat.  He slept all the way home, hardly making a peep.

Kelli feeding little Eli at home.  He can’t keep his hands out of his face when we’re trying to feed him.  They tell us he is a self-soother, which sounds like a good thing to me.

Here he is doing what he does best, surrounded by polka dots and little air planes.

He is so beautiful and so BIG. I don’t think he looks so much like a newborn! He must have made the NICU babies look so tiny! I’m so thankful he is home! BTW, did you get a new couch?

Hooray!Hooray! LOVED THE PICS! What a beautiful boy (parents aren’t hard to look at either). Thinking of you three tonight beginning your new lives and probably not sleeping. Love, Aunt Carol

It is a relief indeed. Everything seems much better knowing he is right near us.

We celebrated tonight with some recipes courtesy of alan, Chicken long rice with some Orange mango sorbet for desert. All prepared while sipping on a very tropical double IPA that was sent to me by erway from ratebeer.com as a congrats for having the boy. The beer was perfect with this meal, with notes of grapefruit and passion fruit with a touch of pine and some very light malt flavors. It was nice and dry, like a good IIPA should be.

All of this combined with a very happy baby laying on my stomach on the floor made for just about the perfect evening.
